What Makes Tocotrienols Structurally Different

Tocotrienols are part of the Vitamin E family — structurally similar to tocopherols, with one key difference.

Instead of a saturated phytyl tail, tocotrienols have an unsaturated side chain. This structural difference is what makes tocotrienols a stronger antioxidant than tocopherols.
